USM researchers surpass 1,000 citations with influential graphene study

Our 2010 study on the electronic properties of rotated (twisted) bilayer graphene surpassed 1,000 citations on Google Scholar — a milestone fewer than 0.4% of American Physical Society papers reach. Developed entirely at USM, it identified the "flat bands" later found central to superconductivity in twisted graphene.
